British Columbia PNP introduced the Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) in January 2016, to help manage the provincial nomination applications of the skilled immigrants. SIRS is a points-based registration and application system that helps British Columbia select the best workers to meet the needs of the labor market. By registering, you express your interest in applying to BC PNP. This is not an application for permanent residence.

BC PNP reserves the right to make changes to the SIRS without notice, including changes to the scoring grids, the length of time your entry may remain in the selection pool, as well as the number and frequency of candidates invited to apply for provincial nomination.

Users should note that, at this time, all BC PNP immigration categories that are subject to SIRS require applicants to accept an offer of full-time indeterminate employment from an eligible employer of the province.

The SIRS is conducted by the British Columbia Nominee Program (BC PNP). As this is a points-based system, applicants are given scores based on the information provided when creating their online profile (same as an express entry), after which they enter the pool with the profiles of the other candidates. Through frequently held BC PNP draws, candidates receive the invitation to apply for the provincial nomination through various streams of the British Columbia Nominee Program.
After a Canada Express entry candidate gets a provincial nomination, they get 600 CRS points to their profile thus effectively making sure they get an ITA to apply for Canada permanent residence to IRCC.
